Starting with her education at the Aveda Institute, Dylen has always strived for excellence in the salon industry. Passion for her craft has driven her to not only continue to educate herself, but to also educate as many others as she can. After many years behind the chair, she has been an educator for multiple companies/brands, and has empowered hairstylists all over the United States in growing not only their craft and technical skills, but their confidence in themselves as well.

Dylen Starr is a published editorial hairstylist and a three-time Avant Garde Hairstylist of the Year nominee, one time nominated Hairstylist and Haircolorist of the year nominee, and recognized among her peers nationally and internationally, for both her technical precision and creative edge. When she’s not behind the chair, she can be found backstage at Fashion Week, collaborating with her artistic team, Beauty Underground, working international hair shows, or developing boundary-pushing avant-garde collections. She also designs upcycled clothing and shoes which can be found locally, at Scavenged Goods.

At the core of her work, however, is a deep commitment to her everyday clients. Behind the chair, Dylen is known for her signature blonding services—high-impact, low-commitment transformations—as well as her ability to achieve blonde results on hair others have turned away. She is also a skilled extension specialist, working with EHP and their hand-tied installation method.

Above all, Dylen prioritizes hair health and integrity, creating results that not only look striking but last. Her goal is simple: to help each client step into the most aligned, elevated version of themselves—even if that version is a little #NonTraditional.
